Lemon-Pepper Chicken

For this recipe we created a lemon-pepper seasoning that also tastes great on steak, fish, and vegetables such as broccoli or green beans.

Figs in Red-Wine Syrup

This condiment goes well with Stilton cheese or smoked meats. It also makes a great dessert when topped with yogurt or crème fraîche. Active time: 10 min Start to finish: 1 3/4 hr

Lemon Couscous with Peas and Carrots

This colorful couscous can be prepared in about 15 minutes. To cut that down to 10 minutes, mince the carrots in a processor.

Penne with Wilted Arugula, Radicchio, and Smoked Mozzarella

Active time: 25 min Start to finish: 25 min

Gingered Cranberry and Kumquat Relish

Kumquats lend their bright citrus snap to a no-cooking-required relish.

Cilantro-Lime Vinaigrette

Use with sweet and buttery lettuces such as Boston and Bibb.

Lemon-Lime Pound Cake

Using sweet soda pop in dessert recipes is a southern tradition.

Sunshine Vinaigrette

This dressing, which I created for my Rustic Chicken Salad, will enliven any salad. Keep whisking while you drizzle in the oil—the vinaigrette will emulsify (thicken).

Rack of Lamb with Spice and Pepper Crust

Accompany this well-seasoned main course with a creamy potato gratin and purchased caponata drizzled with fresh lemon juice; serve apple pie for dessert.

Hearts of Romaine with Creamy Lime Vinaigrette

Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.

Rosemary Chicken and Summer Squash Brochettes

Serve these atop rice, and offer cherry tomatoes tossed with ranch dressing on the side. Purchased peach tarts wrap it up.
