Brandy Snaps

You may substitute dark corn syrup for the golden syrup, but the flavor will vary slightly. If the cookies get too cool to shape, return them to the oven for a few seconds until they soften.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cups

Keep the pan of simmering water nearby to re-warm the chocolate as you are working. You will need about 30 1 1/2-inch and 12 2 1/2-inch paper candy cups; they are available at most baking supply stores.

Navettes

Navettes are boat-shaped cakes from Provence traditionally flavored with orange water.

Hibiscus and Ginger Iced Tea

If any drink was made for leisurely back-porch sipping, it’s iced tea. Our version is brewed from zesty hibiscus tea, which is made from copperyred hibiscus leaves and is naturally caffeine free. Ginger syrup and lemon juice add layers of flavor.

Orange Lemonade

To make a fizzy version of this recipe, use seltzer or sparkling water.

Limeade

For spiked drinks, pour 1 ounce vodka over ice into each glass before topping with limeade.

Homemade Ginger Beer

This ginger beer is very spicy. Adjust the amount of lime juice and sugar to your taste.

Peach Tea Punch

Almost any type of fruit nectar can be substituted for peach with equally delectable results. We especially like the exotic flavor of mango.

Pumpkinseed Crackle

The crackle can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 month.

Chunky Peanut, Chocolate, and Cinnamon Cookies

You can make bite-size cookies by rolling the dough into smaller balls.
