1 small onion, grated
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons grated or finely chopped fresh ginger
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup fresh lemon or lime juice or red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Asian hot pepper sauce (Rooster Sauce)

Preparation

  1. COOK the onion in the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Simmer for a few minutes until thickened and smooth.
