Pile in a buttered dish, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 20 minutes at 350°F. Serve them as baked dumplings, perhaps with a flavorful sauce.

    Did you peek? Next time, let the dumplings cook undisturbed. Drafts of air will deflate some dumplings. If you can’t stand the suspense, invest in a pot with a glass lid.
