Asian Sesame-Soy Noodles

This simply flavored noodle dish is good served with Asian-style tofu dishes. See the menu suggested on page 135 with Sweet and Savory SautĆ©ed or Baked Tofu as well as the one given here. If you can’t find Asian noodles, substitute linguine.

Ingredients

8 ounces udon, soba, Chinese wheat noodles, or linguine
2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
2 to 3 tablespoons soy sauce, or to taste
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
1 to 2 scallions, thinly sliced

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Cook the noodles according to package directions and drain.

    Step 2

    Meanwhile, combine the oil, soy sauce, and honey in a small bowl and stir to blend.

    Step 3

    Combine the noodles and sauce in a serving container and toss well. Sprinkle the scallions on top and serve.
